Peer Support Services

About These Services

Peer Support Services are aimed at providing assistance to individuals working towards recovery.  Recovery and anti‐stigma programs are provided within these services.

Peer Support Specialists strive to empower individuals to achieve their hopes, dreams and goals and connect them with their personal recovery journey.  A Peer Support Specialist has walked the path of recovery from mental illness and assists others.

Customer Service

Peer Customer service staff provide assistance and welcoming for intake appointments and individuals who present for crisis walk-in services.   They provide assistance in the completion of financial forms, health questionaires or other assessment tools prior to intake.  Their personal experiences help individuals to overcome barriers in seeking assistance.
 

Monday Night Activities

This program is aimed at providing group social activities and community involvement for persons with a serious mental illness and/or intellectual/developmental disability residing in the Alpena and surrounding area.

Activities include: Bingo, Civic theater, Birthday celebrations, Movies, Night to Shine Prom, Boat rides and other outdoor activities
