Northeast Michigan Community Mental Health Authority's inaugural Mental Health Movement 5K Run-Walk will be a chip-timed event. We aim to bring awareness to mental health in our four-county catchment area of Alcona, Alpena, Montmorency, and Presque Isle. All proceeds will be donated to Hope Shores Alliance.
Hope Shores Alliance is a community supported organization dedicated to assisting victims/survivors and their families in ending domestic and sexual violence and discrimination in their lives through education, systems change, building community partnerships, and ensuring availability and accessibility of supportive services. Their focus is to help people from all walks of life on their healing journey. They believe, support, and validate survivors who have experienced trauma. Providing hope, when and where they need it. For more information on Hope Shores Alliance, visit their website: https://hopeshores.org/.
Each 5K participant will receive a swag bag and all finishers will receive a medal. Awards will be given to the top individual in each age bracket across all three categories: female, male, non-binary.
This event can be completed by anyone! Our route is wheelchair and stroller friendly, and there will be runners and walkers. You can go for a PR or take a beautiful morning walk along our river route! All participants will receive a race bib with chip timers to allow for accurate timing. Runners will start first, followed by walking participants.
